Body Rhythms
As all is vibration, all is tied to the rhythms of the cosmos. Knowing about, paying attention to, and aligning one’s rhythms is a way to better flow though one’s moments. As a musician, we are more than familiar with the concept and the power of rhythm. Bringing that awareness to the flow of life and the flow of the human body and all its systems is an important facet of impactful healing creations. What follows are some key points to spark your awareness and creativity.
- Our brain waves oscillate at specific frequencies. Each brain wave state creates a consciousness state. Knowing these and including specific wave elements in a composition is a current trend of great power. Imbedding binaural beats (that create an alpha, beta, theta, delta or gamma)
- Creating songs at the tempo of the heartbeat is a proven technique among soundhealers (60-70bpm). Alo consider the respiration rate at 15-30 breaths per minute as an alternative pulse within your song. Perhaps a repeating instrumental motif or a vocal statement or melody can be used at this rate.
- Specific music for the seasons has value. Winter music is reflective and slow, inviting contemplation, re-evaluation, and release. Fall music calls for a decision to look inward but not so seriously. Summer music is filled with life and light, uptempo and inviting. Spring music lifts one out of their reflection and is a fine time for intending and manifesting., It is a time for gratitude and acknowledging the beautiful natural world.
- Biorhythms are cyclical on a monthly pattern. Music for the physical, emotional, and spiritual components can be particularly powerful when cycles are low.
- The Chinese Organ Clock addresses the organs and their time of greatest activity and weakness. Music that addresses this can be particularly helpful in a healing process for a specific organ. Song would be played during that time.
- Circadian Rhythms relate to the 24 hour cycle of day and night. There are reasons to create music that serves the energies of the times of the day. Morning music, afternoon music, and night time music are useful to support energy and rest.
- Create music that addresses weather patterns, totem animals, the natural world environments, astrological cycles, lunar cycles, solar cycles, planetary rhythms, etc. These types of creations will have continued benefit for a long time to come.
- With research you can find some interesting cycles and rhythms on your own: menstrual cycle, gestation cycle, blood pressure, cellular regeneration, etc.
