The Cosmos is about flow. Change is a driving force that moves matter around to adopt the forms necessary to feed and make manifest the intentions of you and I. We are primary players in supporting the necessity of the flow to make the Universe run. Our actions affirm the Laws of the Cosmos and build our trust muscles so that we never choose to hesitate to ride the wave of what is before us.

We, as spiritual beings living in the human physical, are well supported by the uber loving Source of all. Things don’t just happen however. We have to be an active part in inviting the Universe and all its players to serve us in the way we desire. I used to subscribe to many magazines from Publisher’s Clearing House because I wanted Ed McMahon to come to my door with the big old check. I figured that if I subscribed I would be in the more likely to win pile of entries. And then I waited. My magazines came but Ed did not. I waited for him…but I did nothing more to set the vibration through thought or action. If anything, I fed the likely not gonna happen energy which, as we know, is quite counter-productive, actually giving the magnetization to things not working out in my favor.

Asking and receiving are a matched pair. They are a circle of activity that is a prime example of perpetual motion. One who gives must be open to receive. When one receives one must be willing to give in response. It is all a matter of keeping the circle in action. When you apply this to any kind of guidance you can see that asking is essential to make the desire known. There is some information about how you ask that is relevant to the desired result that we must look at. And to seal the deal, we have to be open to receive without hesitation the guidance that is sent. And we shall explore some of the requirements of that staying in the flow, as well.

Asking

As far as guides and teachers and angels go, the only ones who do not require calling to are your guardian angels. All the rest have to called in to action. It can be as simple as a verbal help, or as specific as you speaking your birth name out loud (which sends a frequency for assistance to all who are aligned to you). Or it can even be a formal form of prayer that you learned. Be careful here though. The energy in which you send your request can impact the result. Begging is not necessarily the most powerful way to send a request, although, in some circumstances, it is understandable and useful. Claiming the desired result in a spirit of gratitude as you verbalize the request is a potent way to show good faith in a result manifesting. Wishin’ and hopin” was a great Dusty Springfield song in the 60’s but it has no chutzpah to activate a strong response from your etheric beings. Requests that claim and are filled with emotion that is in alignment with the situation can be very useful. Overly dramatic is entertaining but will likely be ignored for awhile.

Be sincere and authentic when you ask for help. Be clear and state your business. Be open to letting the cosmos fill in the details and the timeline. Have faith that your request will be met with this or something more magnificent. Maintain a state of heartfelt expectation that is filled with authentic gratitude. Also, consider asking and intending for others. Notice what life brings to your altar of awareness and put out compassionate requests for those in need. Not only will this develop your skills but it will also result in you receiving way more than you even ask for. The Law of Reciprocity…you know…

Receiving

Being open to receive completes the circle and affirms the process to keep working for you. Too often we get caught up in a form and miss the host of gifts that came our way in response to our request, in slightly or significantly different forms than our request. Receiving involves paying attention once you ask. It can come in a host of ways that you may miss. Notice the nuances around you. Billboards, songs on a radio, a passerby in the store, an over heard conversation, a book falling from the shelf, a random TV program…you get the picture.

Be willing to accept gracefully when someone gives you something. You have no idea what it took for them to do this. A simple heartfelt thank you goes a very long way to making sure that life keeps flowing your way. Notice and celebrate the infinite gifts of life that bless your moments. Appreciate nature and thank her for the sunset, the mountain view, the lovely stream, the song of the birds…acknowledgment stokes the fire of the flow continuing in your direction. Even if you have not made a request develop the glorious habit of blessing life and all her forms. This flow will be well established when you really need some support or something.

Too many of us are caught up in doing it all ourselves. We have not developed the willingness or the courage to ask for help. Perhaps there is fear that you won’t get it. That’s possible…just as the getting it is. Start asking for assistance. Most who are do-it-yourselfers are wanting some playmates and some assistance but they have lost touch with asking. Be willing to ask and see what happens. In no time at all you will be comfortable and pleasantly surprised by how many are willing to be there for you. Be sure to let them in.

In subsequent sessions we will be looking at the kinds of beings you can seek assistance from. For now keep showing up in your moments of living. Ask…and then receive…keep the circle moving.
