The historical human relationship with emotion is at best, a mixed bag. Few things are as polarized as the experiencing of emotions. Few really understand the nature of the emotions let alone how to flow with them. Emotions are one of the primary calling cards for the Earth dimension and one reason why beings are lined up to experience their inner Captain Kirk.

Emotions are what gives life the juice. They are the amplifier for manifestation in all forms. They are an integral part of the body glandular system, the chakra system, and the energetic body design. They are one of two main communication tools for the Inner Child. And they interface with lunar and other Celestial energies.

Without them life is shallow. With them in an uninformed way life is an unpredictable roller coaster.

Traditional culture does not embrace them, they tolerate them. Women are celebrated and mocked for being emotional, also being considered week. Men are cerebrated and elevated for being non-emotional. Squeezing a tear out is a no-no. Society makes entertainment out of them in extremes as reality shows, sports events with the tear cam, referring to the expression of emotion as breaking down, falling apart, losing control, and wimping out.

And all the while, emotion is an ongoing part of the extended bodily design. And this design is always pushing against the personal beliefs and history to move one towards emotional literacy. So, why not go for it and enter the technicolor world of fully feeling your emotions.

Commonly 5 emotions are held as the basics: joy, sadness, fear, anger, and grief (an extending journey through the other basics). There are many variations of the above, nuances, often influenced by the meshing of one or more. Some will say that guilt and shame are considered basic as well . What is important is to know that each has a flavor, a sequence of expression (a life, if you will), a typical body location, and specific things one can do to facilitate their flow. Emotional literacy is the conscious capacity to understand all of this and put it into consistent action.

The first step is to understand the nature of the design and thus, reduce any fear or hesitancy to allow them to move when they arise. Know that emotions are amplified by the amount of what I call energetic debris held in typically the chakra centers. Life moments are rich and often elicit an emotional response. Familial and social directives often teach us to not express our truth in the moment. Thus, we swallow the unexpressed emotional energy. This energy is, by design, stored in the lower body chakras, with the Throat being the primary outlet for all below as most often the swallowing of the energy also shuts down the voice and speaking one’s truth.

The Root holds a mixture of emotion based on survival issues as well as genetic and family of choice influences. The Sacral chakra holds fear; the Solar Plexus holds anger; the Heart Chakra holds sadness and is the launch point for grief; the throat is impacted by all the storage and resistance below. New information about the back side of each chakra by author/pioneer, Cyndi Dale, establishes that a pure form energy of emotion enters the back side of the Sacral Chakra to be dispensed into form as needed by body wisdom, which can also be influenced consciously.

Reservoirs of stored emotion in any of the chakras can be triggered by events in our moments of living. As the body is predisposed to clear and cleanse and maintain balance, it will use any opportunity to do so when any emotion shows up. This can easily lead to a full blown blow up or even a crime of passion. The best case is to consciously clear and then choose to not store any more energetic residue in the chakras.

All of this will be explored in more depth when we reach Block 2 Session 3.

For now the invitation is to act as if you are fluent in emotion. Pay attention to the body inside and when you feel sensation, bring your attention to it for it is likely the stirring of emotion. See what happens. Often the attention is enough to trigger the movement and release of the emotional energy. Also, spend some time reflecting on your main emotions. Think back to times when you felt each. Make a list of situations and people where you felt the emotion. Notice where it shows up in your body. You can quickly develop the energetic vocabulary to be able to identify the rising emotion by its location. Then you can follow inner guidance to support its release.

In the enlightened state we feel, fully. Each emotion has a time and a degree of intensity. Start to invite sounds to accompany the emotion. See what that does. Begin to make lists in your journal addressing the people and situations where you felt each emotion. We can do something with this when we get to the session on emotions.

Allowing emotion to flow is one of the most important things you can do in this dimension. Consider yourself a master and act as if. Your own inner wisdom and Higher Self will guide you to developing personal skills and having opening experiences.

Finally, start viewing all expressions of emotion as a nuance of Love, for that is the frequency of life. Our Piscean learned tendency to need to polarize has us doing the good vs bad dance. We categorize, we separate, and we judge, making some emotions and their experiences better than others. And this causes us to turn away from feeling. Love has many blushes. Seek the beauty in all experiences and you can immerse your self in the grand panorama of Earthly life.
