Emotional Literacy
To be literate is to be able to utilize the tools of language to communicate with another. Schools are intended to teach the basics of reading, writing, and speaking to insure a society that has the means to succeed according to its standards.
Emotional literacy is the capacity to know and understand the nature of, the use of, and the experience of emotions . It is the capacity to recognize the physical, personal, sensations that show an emotion is active and moving. It is the capacity to identify the specific emotion and move with specific choices to facilitate its embrace, flow, and release. It is knowing how to be present with the emotion and communicate the experience with others who are involved or present. It is the capacity to appreciate the design and the movement of these surges of energy so unique to this plane. It is the active use of the tools to fully experience the depth of each of the primary emotions: joy, sorrow, fear, anger, and grief
Emotional literacy is a primary skill necessary to navigate this dimension…its one of the reasons we came here….right?! But, how important is it it to current society? Schools do not address it, unless you were in Mr. Welch’s 4th grade classes from 1977 to 1992, where it was an integrated part of the daily activity. 450 children, give or take a few, were given tools that may or may not have made a difference in their lives, but, at least, they were given a foundation upon which to build when they woke up to the necessity of it to move through life with clarity.
Culturally, emotions are tolerated at best. Women are classed as emotional and weak, while men traditionally are ostracized if they show weakness through the expression of emotion. We are taught to tough it out, keep a stiff upper lip, keep in control,…people are said to break down, fall apart, and lose their mind. One of the most beautiful elements of life is being squelched and restricted and discouraged by societal pressure…the very thing that is the fuel for more emotional energy rising to express…can you see a problem here?
The repression is an energetic time bomb that compromises and eventually, disintegrates tissue through significant diseases and chronic conditions which, then in the wisdom of the establishment, further stuff with pharmaceuticals to keep them even and “normal”. In other words, “do not feel”
Because then you would become dissatisfied with the way things are and move to initiate personal change which could likely stir the applecart and disrupt the carefully programmed sheep…emotional literacy? Forget about it!
Up until now, that is…the vibration of the new times is all about stirring the pot, releasing the toxic reservoirs of unexpressed emotion in waves of energy. Not a person on this planet can escape the stirring of the residue. Many have followed New Thought paths, Ascension paths, to be open to the idea and have made phenomenal headway in becoming emotionally literate. Too many have not. And they are feeling the building of the pressure to get clear, let go…and the forms are beginning to crumble and shatter. The very institutions that kept the straight jacket on the masses are teetering, soon to become outmoded by a higher frequency replacement already in the works.
It is a great time to be alive…a good day to die…to the old ways…
