By itself, money is an agreed upon medium of exchange for goods or services. Left alone we would all be in a flow with its intended purpose. But, money and what it means and represents, has been seriously manipulated for whatever reason. The result is that money has become a stress pit that makes life all about getting more no matter what. The focus of too many humans is doing whatever it takes to get more of it believing that happiness will come when one has x amount.
How has that played out. People rob one another to get more. People manipulate one another to get more. They kill one another to get more. And all the while the value of that money gets manipulated by the very ones who have established it value, arbitrarily. Processes like inflation, credit, money exchange and money value alter its actual worth while it sits in your pocket.
Barter or an exchange of goods and services between parties used to be an easy way to get what we needed. It leaves money out of the equation. People negotiate value and walk away satisfied. Barter is showing up more and more these days as an alternative to the gamer of money.
Much of life’s pleasure is lost in the pursuit of money. Those that get it often then get afraid of losing it and their behavior and actual humanity alters as they start to hoard and control and jockey to reach escalating plateaus. Far too many are miserable…haves and have nots…who, really is better off? Like so many things in this Earth plane, there is a place of balance to find. Having enough to enjoy what you have and do what you want with seems to be a good way to deal with it.
With the advent of banking the people are manipulated to save while the money saved is used to make the bank more money, so much so that if everyone who had money there wanted it at the same time, the bank could not produce because the money has been lent or invested. Banks take the money and then charge fees for us to use it. Curious,,,these humans.
And then there is credit. People have been indoctrinated to believe they are limited and flawed. In that state one must improve. The life that is dangled in front of everyone via media and culture is the lifestyle of the rich and famous. So, the masses become driven to get stuff to appear wealthy. Thus credit is used to fill up the emotional hole and secure too much stuff that really is not even needed.
OK, you get it. Is it a mess? Yes! Is there a place of balance? Yes! Is money necessary? Debatable (even money as cash has been replaced in a large degree by digital transaction…numbers in a computer data base). So, what to do?
First of all, the pursuit of money as wealth and a sign of prosperity permeates human life and figures mightily into someone’s personal vision of right livelihood. Some say that spirituality doesn’t mix with money and purposely live the life of a pauper to be more spiritual. Questionable choice. But when you look at the work/pay relationship, it appears that many of the higher/est paying jobs suffer from a lack of integrity and affirmation of humanity’s oneness.
Now throw in the universal law that establishes universal abundance and no real lack. If one was to trust the design flow and live in a place of personal integrity then what one needs would always appear when they need it. Intention is followed by manifestation. In this flowing state then one is free to pursue the very “work” that serves their Whole Self and is aligned with the curious idea of “life’s purpose”, something we will explore in a session to follow.
Like so many elements of how life has been humanized, the ”way it is” ain’t really the way it needs to be or is even designed to be. And all the while, this loving Cosmos let’s humans scurry about dancing nervously in their own free will choices and subsequent forms, bumping into things, gnawing and gnashing, wishin’ and hopin’, spinnin’ tales about what is best and normal…goodness!
We have opened a door here. Now let’s take some time and invite you to step into personal history surrounding money> Questions…you bet…lots of them. Have fun…this is to stir the pot and prepare you for the great operating system upgrade.
Take the time to reflect on and answer all of these questions regarding prosperity. Your honest answers may reveal some of the energetic causes of the flow of abundance being spotty.
How do you feel about money? Do you think of it as “good,” “bad,” or something else?
•Do you have “enough” money? How do you define “enough”? Can you meet your financial requirements— your bills, debts, and living expenses? Do you have resources for enjoyment and entertainment?
• Do you plan in advance with your money? Do you have a budget? Do you have a retirement or investment plan?
•Are you in debt? If so, for what reason? Were the debts foreseen and planned for, or unforeseen? If you have been in debt for a period of time, has your overall debt amount changed, and if so, has it decreased or increased?
• If you have had, or currently have, financial problems, when did they first occur? Was anything else significant occurring in your life at that time? How was your health? How were your primary relationships with friends and family? How was your spiritual life?
• What is your perceived economic position in life? What words would you use to describe your position? How do those words make you feel about yourself?
• What is the perceived economic position of your family, including your parents, siblings, and spouse, if applicable? Again, what words would you use to describe their position? How do those words make you feel about your family?
• What is the perceived economic position of your friends and acquaintances? Again, what words would you use to describe their position, and how do these words make you feel about your friends?
• Is there a difference between your economic position and the position of those around you? Do you feel your position is more or less favorable? Why do you think there is a difference?
• Do you feel you “deserve” what you have? Is that a “good” or “bad” thing for you?
• When you receive a large sum of money, expectedly or unexpectedly, what do you do with it? Are you likely to save it? Do you budget it? Do you spend it immediately with no thoughts to the future? Are you so frugal with your saving that you deny yourself things you want and could afford?
• What do you think and feel about your job? Do you generally like or dislike it? Is it something you want to do, or do you feel that you “have” to do it? If you have to do it, why? Is your job a career, or simply something you do?
• Growing up, what did your parent( s) or other primary care providers do for work? What were their attitudes toward their work? What were your attitudes toward their work at the time? What are your attitudes toward their work now, looking back as an adult?
• Are you thankful for your job? Why or why not?
• Do you feel there is a higher purpose to your job? If so, in fulfilling that higher purpose, how do you feel— joyful, stressed, unhappy?
• As a child, what did you dream of doing with your life? Are you doing it? If not, when and how did the dream change?
• If you could do anything for a job, what would be your dream job? If you are not living your dream job, are you working toward it? If you are not working toward it, why not?
• Are you ready to change your economic status? How would your life change? You cannot make such a change without affecting every other part of your life. How would your relationships with family, friends, lovers, co-workers, and casual acquaintances change? Do you want to change these parts of your life? Are you ready for them to change in ways you do not expect?
• If you are not “rich,” what do you think the biggest impediment to you being rich is? Examine your first gut-instinct answer. Does it have anything to do with other people or circumstances? Does it have anything to do with anyone or anything else besides yourself? Are you blaming someone or something else for your lack of riches? If so, this blaming of people and things you perceive as outside of yourself is probably one of the biggest blocks you have to developing riches.
